Sustainable Farming

Sustainable and Salmon Safe. Sustainable vineyard management is about more than growing grapes—it’s about honoring the land and safeguarding its future. By reducing chemicals, conserving precious water, nurturing rich soil, and welcoming biodiversity, our vineyards, plants, trees, and wildlife can flourish for generations. We aim to grow exceptional grapes while nourishing a healthier planet. As testament to our efforts, Quandary Vineyards has been certified as a sustainable and salmon safe vineyard.

Solar Energy & Back-up Generators

Net-Zero. Because we want to preserve nature’s resources, we teamed with Green Ridge Solar to add a ground-mounted solar array of 96 panels, enabling Quandary Vineyards to become electrically net zero. Any excess energy we put back on the grid helps those who can’t afford their electric bills. And emergency generators carry all operations of the homes, barn, and vineyard through any power disruptions due to weather, ensuring our guest home visitors and enjoy a relaxing stay.

Nature’s Water

Dry Land Farm. At Quandary Vineyards, we don’t irrigate. By encouraging our vines to rely on nature’s rain and ground water for sustenance, we believe their roots grow deeper and their overall health grows stronger. However, our landscaping would suffer greatly if is had to rely only on rain throughout the drier months. So to make further use of the water nature gives us, we enlarged our vineyard pond to capture winter rain water, which we use to water our landscaping around the property during the summer.
